Here we go then, World Cup 2018 is here, which means you're going to need somewhere to watch the games.
Of course, you could watch it at home, but then there's the chance you'll be roped into ironing. You could have it on at work, hidden behind a spreadsheet, but then you might get busted. Cafe Football - Cathedral Gardens
As you'd expect from a football-themed cafe located inside the National Football Museum, they're going to be showing a fair bit of the World Cup. Cafe Football boasts a multitude of plasma screens, meaning you'll not miss a kick from any spot, and will be serving a World Cup-themed menu throughout the tournament, including 'Pirozhki’ (A Russian beef and cheese fried bun), the great English breakfast bun, and the 'Around the World in 90 minutes' platter, with Spanish tortillas, Swedish meatballs, chicken Kievs and Italian...whoops. Manchester235 - Great Northern
This casino in the Great Northern is one of few venues promising to show every single match - even Morocco vs Iran. With HD TVs, plenty of seating, a pop-up Carlsberg bar, a James Martin restaurant, and blackjack tables (in case of snore draws), you can't go far wrong at 235... unless you lose your house on a pair of Kings. Gorilla - Whitworth Street
Not somewhere you'd associate with sport (unless the sport is sinking gin in a railway arch) but Gorilla are getting well into the spirit this time around, and will be showing all England games (all three of them) inside the club on a big screen. Twenty Twenty Two - Northern Quarter
If you like your football down a back alley, deep underground, with the constant threat of balls in your face, then you should head to Northern Quarter bar and table tennis club, Twenty Twenty Two. Second City - Ancoats
With one 136 inch screen, one 85 inch screen, and two 45 inch screens, this is probably the finest inch for inch bar in the city centre. With an extra long bar (no four deeps), loads of seats, loads of room, FIFA on the PS4 (for afterwards) and a special World Cup food menu, Second City is a solid choice for World Cup wanderers. 37 Blossom St, Manchester M4 6AJ
Dive - Northern Quarter
Another venue showing every single match, Dive was recently named the best place to watch live sports in Manchester by Sky Sports and Carlsberg - which we're guessing they serve. Dive boasts ultra HD screens (eleven of them), bookable private areas (so you needn't be showered in beer.... is that beer?) and leather chairs... ooo fancy. Director's Box - Booth Street
Located in the former Beef & Pudding spot on Booth Street (close to Manchester Town Hall), this plush new sports bar offers nine 'state-of-the art screens', John Smith's bitter (oo luvlah) and plenty of nibbles. This place can show up to four different sports at once, but we're guessing asking them to put the badminton in the next month or so might go down as well as a headbutt to the chest... eh Zinedine? 37 Booth St, Manchester M2 4AA
Tib Street Tavern - Northern Quarter
Tib Street has become NQ's footy pub of choice in recent years, with screens upstairs, downstairs and even on the stairs.
