Food meets fast cars and bikes for first action-packed special event
CELEBRITY chef James Martin and multiple world champion trial biker Dougie Lampkin MBE hosted a Petrolheads Lunch at James’ award-winning restaurant in Manchester235 casino on Tuesday, delivering fast cars and spectacular stunts – and, of course, food – to the people of Manchester.
The adrenalin-fuelled event saw Dougie take to Great North Square to carry out some high-risk, jaw-dropping stunts on his motorbike – even jumping, at high speed, over a certain celebrity chef! The thrills of the day were further enhanced when Dougie took to the casino floor, first riding up the escalators, surprising many of the audience, then pulling a wheelie while weaving through the casino tables and into the kitchen in the James Martin Restaurant – the kitchen staff certainly had their work cut out to continue service!
Guests were treated to a showcase of classic cars and motorbikes, both on the square and inside the casino itself, including some of James’ very own precious old Ferraris and Mustangs.
The unique day was accompanied by great food and super-charged chat inside James Martin Manchester, where the celebrity double act chatted to guests about their love and passion for fast cars and food over a slap-up three-course meal.
James says: “This has to be my idea of event heaven. Fast cars, stunts, great food and terrific company… it was so exciting to be able to share my passions with the people of Manchester. We focus on delivering the best dining experience in the city, and I think everyone will agree that this showstopper’s going to be a tough one to beat!”
