Our mums – as well as mother figures or other beloved women in our lives – do so much for us that it almost seems remiss that there’s only one day a year dedicated to them. Alston Bar & Beef

For every table of four (booked 72 hours in advance) mum will be gifted a free Sunday Roast Feast. Their three course menu includes soup of the day, a Sunday roast with all the trimmings and a sharing strawberry trifle.

Australasia

This Mother’s Day, Molton Brown will be offering a complimentary goodie bag to all 'mums' and also a luxury hand massage for those dining in the Pan-Asian restaurant between 2.30-4.30 pm. The subterranean Spinningfields venue is the perfect antidote to stuffy fine dining attitudes, with a menu inspired by Pacific Rim flavours with strong European foundations, and also includes a blend of Indonesian and Southeast Asian influences. Cosy Club

Celebrate with your mum over a boozy brunch or afternoon tea. Brunch is served between 9am-4pm and includes any dish off the brunch menu, a mini pudding, tea or coffee and a glass of bubbly for £16 per person. If mum prefers a lie-in (she deserves one), then afternoon tea is served between 4-7pm for £13 per person. Lovely mums will also receive a free token gift - a little something to say thank you.

Escape Hunt 

Mum deserves more than flowers, so give her the gift of time by locking her up with her nearest and dearest for some family fun. Escape Hunt’s limited-edition Mother’s Day gift box contains a voucher for an adrenaline-packed hour of escape hunting. Head to Gino’s this Mother’s Day and your madre won’t go thirsty, as she’ll receive a complimentary glass of rosé, special spring cocktail and more surprises. The perfect place to treat your mum, the traditional Ivy Brasserie serves modern British classics is opulent settings while the light-filled Roof Garden is decorated with abundance of planting, greenery and foliage and colourful fabrics.

The Lowry Hotel

On Mother’s Day, treat your mum to an unlimited Afternoon Tea buffet in The Lowry Hotel Grand Ballroom, with entertainment for the whole family. Mother’s Day options can sometimes be a bit, meh, a bit samey. The No Limits Drag Brunch at Maddison’s is anything but. On Sunday 22nd March from midday to 2pm, you can treat your mum like a queen for £39.99 per person.

There’ll be non-stop performances and music from your hosts Butter Honor Roll, Gisele and Heroin Amor as well as non-stop Prosecco, Bellini, wine, Bucks Fizz and soft drinks. The fun is free-flowing.

The plush restaurant within Manchester Hall is a great spot to treat your mum and they’re offering a special three course Mother’s Day menu for £28 per person. Starters include pressed ham hock or goat’s cheese salad, mains feature orange glazed loin of hake or lemon butter chicken and desserts include an indulgent tower of white chocolate caramel profiteroles. The price per head also includes a Chambord Royal – but if you really love your mum, you might have to let her loose on their special gin trolley experience.

Peru Perdu at The Cotton Factory

For ramen loving mas who love oodles of noodles, Shoryu Ramen Manchester is straying away from the traditional Sunday roast. Instead, they’re offering a Mother’s Day set menu where you can enjoy a ramen, side and cocktail for just £24.50.

Tapeo & Wine 

Head Chef Jose Maria Pagazaurtundua (Chema) has created a special dessert for mums called The Honeybee, a creamy honey cheesecake with walnuts and a flake of caramelised sugar. Inspired by his grandma, who would serve fresh cheese and nuts drizzled with honey, Chema created a special dessert in her honour. On Mother’s Day, Tapeo & Wine will be offering each mum dining with them a slice of The Honeybee. 

Guests can also take advantage of the Sunday deal on paella (vegetarian and vegan options available) which includes either two glasses of sangria or the kids eat for free (terms and conditions apply.)

Three Little Words

If mum is partial to a gin (or two), how better to spend the day than inside the Spirit of Manchester Distillery, home to the award-winning Manchester Gin. You’ll be able to view Wonder Wend, the 1000-litre copper still from the bar, or join a distillery experience.
