Manchester's first ever city-wide banquet will aim to raise half a million in a single night

Save the date: On the evening of the 21st September, Living Ventures will close seven of its city centre restaurants to hold what's thought to be the world's first simultaneous charity dining experience for over 1000 people.

Following dinner, all guests will migrate over to the Albert Hall (pictured) to complete the evening with an unforgettable party.

The event has been organised by the Tim Bacon Foundation, which was set up in January by the restaurateur's business partner and friend, Jeremy Roberts - co-founder of Bacon's Living Ventures restaurant empire.

Tim - who changed the face of Manchester's hospitality scene from the nineties through to present day with brands such as The Living Room, Gusto and Australasia - sadly passed away in 2016 following a long battle with cancer.

The September event will raise money for the Christie Hospital's 'Proton Beam Therapy' project and Maggie’s Centres - which provides much needed care for cancer patients.

Roberts revealed details of the groundbreaking event, dubbed 'Dream the Impossible', during SpinFEST at The Oast House on Sunday 30th April (the anniversary of Tim’s passing), where friends and former colleagues gathered to remember him.

Roberts said: "On the 21st September Living Ventures will be closing its city centre restaurants for the night to hold what I think is the first simultaneous charity dining experience in the world for over 1000 people.

"The idea is to celebrate Tim’s contribution in establishing those restaurants by enjoying excellent food and drink and above all having some seriously good fun. So, after dinner, we will be having a huge party featuring an incredible line up of acts at the Albert Hall on Peter Street (a venue Tim loved) for everyone dining with us that night.

"I’d like to urge people to ‘save the date’.”
