BARELY had the paint dried on Manchester's new tequila den - XOLO on New Wakefield Street - before the Black Dog Ballroom lot were at it again.

Crazy Pedro's threw a pre-opening opening party last night on the city centre's Square With No Name (above Liar's Club on Motor Street).

"We're still perfecting the pizzas, trying out different doughs and flavour combinations. So we're asking people to pop in over the next couple of weeks before we properly launch to try the pizzas out and give us some feedback."

There's more tequila, more mezcal, more luchadores, but this time they've added pizzas the size of Big Foot's frisbee.

"They're massive," Black Dog co-owner Jobe Ferguson told us during a mini-tour. "Around sixteen inches which makes them bigger than Papa John's XXL."

The pizza ovens certainly look the business...

"State-of-the-art these ovens," Ferguson beams. "We're still perfecting the pizzas, trying out different doughs and flavour combinations.

"We're asking people to pop in over the next couple of weeks before we properly launch to try the pizzas out and give us some feedback."

Before the full opening on Thursday 27 November Crazy Pedro's will be opening sporadically from 6pm until 8pm to give customers a taste of the place and the pizzas - keep an eye out on @CrazyPedros.

The pizza menu, which includes the 'Wacko Jacko' (pepperoni, jerk chicken, pineapple and cashew nut) and 'Pedro's World Famous Hotdog Pizza' (beer-soaked Frankfurter, cheese, crispy Onions, French’s mustard and ketchup), starts at £3 for a slice (1/6 of a whole pizza) to £15 for the full sixteen inch works.

Rumour has it Pedro's are also toying with a palm-sized calzone for £5. The bar goes heavy on the tequila and mezcal - the frozen margarita house-special will have you climbing the walls and your tooth enamel trembling like a ******** Black Dog.

"We don't want people to think this is ONLY a takeaway place," Ferguson told us. "We're a fully stocked bar, a sit-down pizza restaurant or a late-night grab-and-go takeway. Whatever you want us to be."

Crazy Pedro's will be fully open on Motor Street (above Liar's Club) from Thursday 27 November between midday and 4am.

Keep an eye on @CrazyPedros for more.
