Seabass special takes the leap to the main menu

AUTHENTIC Thai flavours are the thing at Chilli Banana, where the menu is the brainchild of head chef and founder of the restaurant mini-chain May Wakefield.

Digging into the huge plate of whole crispy seabass, the nodding and wide eyes said it all… the Pla Song Kreuang was cooked perfectly

May hails from the Prachinburi region of Thailand and is constantly creating delicious dishes inspired by her upbringing there along with her wider travels in more recent years. At Chilli Banana, you can be guaranteed a menu that thinks beyond Pad Thai and serves up something a little more imaginative every time you visit – and the brand-new Pla Song Kreuang seabass and lemongrass main course is no exception.

It’s so good, in fact, that when it was introduced as a one-off on the specials board, it went down such a storm that it has now taken pride of place on the main menu! It goes without saying that we had to try it, so we sent our own intrepid explorer Kate to the Didsbury branch to find out what all the fuss is about.
