Pride might be cancelled this year – but love is not

Manchester Pride is one of the many events that won’t be going ahead this year. Instead the city will be celebrating at home via the ‘Alternative Pride Festival’ – a spectrum of online content being broadcast across a variety of platforms across Pride weekend

Afflecks has always been a beacon for the LGBTQ+ community as well as a huge supporter of Pride

So people are properly kitted out, traders from independent shopping emporium Afflecks have come together to make sure that any Pride celebrations taking place at home can be as colourful and utterly fabulous as those that usually happen on our streets.

The Gay Pride Shop (the biggest Pride and gender identity shop in the UK) and other traders have come up with a ‘Pride at Home’ kit which contains everything that you could possibly need for a loud, proud festival experience in your own home.

Everything in kit is available from Afflecks and the emporium is open every day up to Pride, so festival revellers can explore all three floors and pick up everything they need: from rainbow glitter and disco bum bags to snuggly socks, earrings, bandanas and themed mugs.

Take a tour...

Enter Afflecks on the ground floor via Church Street and head straight to Luna – the first shop you’ll see straight ahead. In this independent, youth-focused festival fashion store you can pick up your key accessories.

Next head up the stairs to the second floor and seek out American Graffiti - the vintage and fancy dress shop which has been trading at Afflecks since it opened in 1982. They have a huge range of party outfits and accessories to kit you out with.

Then head around to the other side of the second floor to the Gay Pride Shop and complete the kit with key pieces for decoration of your home such as rainbow balloons, Love Is Love Bunting and a rainbow MUOBU festival glitter selection as well as rainbow plates, cups, face masks, flags and banners.
