SPIRE is a rare thing in the north. A restaurant that wins praise from London restaurant reviewers yet doesn't get all silly about it with hiked up prices and an 'exclusive atmosphere'.

When Liverpool Confidential reviewed Spire back in 2011, it had recently got the thumbs up from The Independent on Sunday, and had just taken the top spot in the Good Food Guide for the North West.

Main_ImageThe Good Food Guide consultant editor praised its 'warm vibes, competitive prices and cooking that is sheer unfussy, up-to-date class.' We praised just about everything they served us, from the Moreish, moorish confit of duck leg to the huge, creamy fruit trifle.

It was a dinner we'd like to have again and again. This time though, it's your turn.
