Highly-acclaimed, award-winning Indian street food & craft beer specialist Bundobust have now launched an online beer bottle shop.

Patel’s Off Licence - named after the surname of co-founder Mayur - launched as a trial on last Bank Holiday weekend with the purpose to sell Bundobust’s existing stock and to generate some income while the restaurants are closed. Most of the beers sold out within two hours, which prompted Mayur and business partner Marko Husak to quickly re-stock with a fresh beer supply. Now the pair are planning to keep Patel’s Off Licence online permanently.

Seeing as the customers can’t come to us, we thought we’d go to them

The beer selection will change regularly with new varieties landing on the online shop twice a week. Patel’s features beers from breweries Bundobust customers have come to expect such as Northern Monk, Cloudwater, Marble, Kirkstall, and North. Plenty of easy-going pale ales and lagers are available, as well as some more ‘experimental’ beers. Bundobust are also currently brewing up some limited edition collaboration beers that will be available soon.

We have been selling takeout beer at Bundobust as Patel’s Off License for the last couple of years,” says Marko Husak. “But seeing as the customers can’t come to us, we thought we’d go to them. We thought the bottle shop would be a good way to sell existing stock generate a bit of income, and most importantly to connect to our customer base.

“We were so overwhelmed by the demand from our trial day last week, with most beers selling out within hours that we needed to restock quickly. We now plan to keep Patel’s Off Licence going permanently and we're throwing in some little extras as a thank you for your support.”
