A new, regular food fair is coming to North Brewing Co. Taproom this Summer

As Leeds Indie Food enters the final week of this year's festival - an annual calendar of events celebrating and showcasing our city’s independent food and drink community - the team have unveiled a new legacy project to keep the party going throughout the Summer.

EatNorth is a brand new food fair taking place every weekend at the North Brewing Co taproom, located at the brewery in Sheepscar (don’t worry, it sounds far away but it’s only five minutes past The Reliance). Starting on Saturday 17 June, it’ll be the city’s first ever weekly street food event, finally bringing Leeds up to date with London and Manchester.

“Events in other Northern cities, like GRUB, show there’s a real appetite for good food and good beer, and we’re excited to offer a bite of Leeds Indie Food every week, all Summer” says LIF organiser Matt Dix. “We’ve been trying to get a weekly street food event off the ground for ages, and we’re really chuffed that everything has fallen into place with EatNorth - We’ve booked some killer street food traders from all over the UK, with plenty of new faces to Leeds.”

While it’s unknown whether EatNorth will continue into the Autumn and beyond, the first six weeks are already fully booked with more than thirty traders on board. Expect a rotating lineup of six traders each week mixing up old favourites with brand new ventures, and at least one trader making their Leeds debut each week.

John from North Brewing Co was excited that their taproom is the home of EatNorth: “The opportunity to work with Leeds Indie Food is really exciting, especially given the reaction to this year’s festival. The quality and variety of the food traders looks incredible, and we love that there will always be something different for people to try with the core range of North Brewing Co. beers and new releases we’ll have on the bar.”

Two special edition events are planned during the initial six-week stint: Friday 7 July is a collaboration between EatNorth and Hopulance, North Brewing Co’s late night funk and soul night, and on Saturday 15 July some of the best vegetarian and vegan traders in the country will be serving up a totally meat-free menu at VegNorth - all accompanied by a bar stocked with vegan beers and wines.
